Across the nation, wide disparities exist in student discipline rates linked to race, ethnicity, disability & other protected classes. Will review key equity considerations related to the code of student conduct, including how to identify and address implicit bias, the need to identify and address facially neutral discipline policies that have a disparate impact, the impact of the worldwide racial justice movement, and the connection between the achievement gap, the opportunity gap, systemic discrimination & disparate student discipline rates that are closely linked to race.
