This session will review key legal requirements related to addressing student behavior for students w/ disabilities, English language learners and students with other specialized needs. It will include a review of the extensive due process rights available when addressing behavior for students under IDEA, key aspects of manifestation determinations, the role of functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans, the process for addressing students with disabilities who may represent a danger to self or others, the obligation to communicate effectively w/ non-English speaking parents, and more.
